Update from the Principal

Dear Parents,

Thank you to parents for attending and supporting the Netfest Netball event last Saturday! This was another active event to promote a love of sport, to keep moving and to be fit and healthy. Mixed in with a sporting focus, a ‘competitive’ element, and lots of fun! Thank you to Ms Kate for organising this event and to everyone that took part.

We have also had an Early Years Open Morning this week, a TeachMeet for all educators to share ideas held on site, U14 Boys Basketball and finished the week with a Trophy Parade and the Talent Show! So much to get involved in and enjoy. The Talent show this morning is an annual event that just keeps getting better. We have a very supportive team, this shows through the self belief and confidence our students have when they get up and perform on stage.

We held a fantastic Science Fair last week and a huge thank you to Miss Sarah for organising this for our students at school. Thank you to all parents for attending and congratulations to all students for showing their creativity, innovation and imagination with some incredible projects on show! A full article about the Science Fair can be found here.

Science has had a great year and the Science Fair stage will undoubtedly encourage more budding scientists from across the school in the future!

The school production of Matilda is coming soon and we are all very excited! Just a huge thank you to everyone for your help from the rehearsals, to costumes, stage design, supporting students, back stage, design and promotion. The students have put in an incredible amount of work and they sound wonderful. Mr Tom, Ms Agnes and many others have done a great job, supported by staff, teachers, parents and members of the community. Everyone has contributed on a huge scale to make this a very special production. We can’t wait!

Matilda tickets went on sale last week, a very exciting production to look forward to this summer! Click here to buy your tickets!

Next week we have our Year 6 and 7 transition event and Early Years Splash Day on Sunday, KS1 Splash Day on Monday, Early Years Storytime on Tuesday and then Swimming Galas each day on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday!

Following on from the previous Sporting Triumphs, I’d like to celebrate the successes from our Basketball teams throughout this year. Basketball has had an astonishing year with accolades and wins throughout the entire school. A huge thank you to all students in all squads and to Mr Kyle for coaching our teams to finish the season with a record below:

Gold – PSL Primary Sports League (Boys and Girls)

Gold – BSME British Schools Middle East

Gold – U14 Girls

Bronze – U14 Boys

Well done to all squads and hopefully this encourages all students to work hard, enjoy sports and to get involved.  Our students have been inspirational, they train hard, win well and lose well, a huge credit to the school with their attitude and approach which is displayed by the role models of staff and parents. On a personal note, it has given me great pleasure in attending the sports events, encouraging students from all schools, thanking coaches, players and presenting medals at the end of each one. It has been very important to me and also to the ethos of the school promoting a growth mindset throughout.

Finally, thank you to all parents for attending the Trophy Parade this morning. Thank you to Mr Kyle, Mr Matt and Ms Jade for a wonderful year of sporting achievements. I want to thank everyone involved across the community for the way in which everyone has supported, encouraged and pushed a healthy lifestyle this year. On behalf of the PE department, I wanted to share our gratitude and heartfelt appreciation for every session parents have helped with, driving students to fixtures, helping them to travel, have opportunities and feel we are all there for them through every practice, fixture and competition. You have provided the students with every possible opportunity to excel at sports. Thank you.

It has been an incredible team effort and we are very proud of the students.

Have a great weekend!

Dr Paul Walton

Virtual Learning

Last year it was announced that it is no longer mandatory for schools to provide Virtual Learning for students, shared by the Ministry of Education in August 2022.

The Ministry of Education has announced that the syllabus system for the coming academic year 2022/23 in all kindergartens, schools, universities, government and private educational institutions at all stages will be mandatory attendance for all students.  The ministry clarified that there would be no choice for parents to attend their children to receive in-person or remotely learning, assuring its keenness to provide for all the requirements for a successful back to school.

At Nadeen School, following the announcement from the Ministry above, our provision for learning will be on site.
