Update from the Principal – 8th February

Update from the Principal

Dear Parents,

Last weekend we celebrated our first Nadeen School Fun Run! – a great occasion to raise awareness for healthy living, an active lifestyle and, bring the community together in a fun way with everyone invited. It was great to see so many people attend and we are very grateful for your support. Thank you to Mr Kyle, Mr Gerry and Ms Sarah for organising the event and all of the parents, students and teachers involved. The students started and finished the run with a smile on their faces and some amazing green costumes. It certainly is an event we will arrange again in the future!

This week has been House Sports events and an opportunity for all students to be involved in competing with each other and working together as teams!

Thank you to all the teachers for their amazing support during the IPC exit points. This week we’ve seen wonderful work produced by our students, sharing their learning and excitement over a range of topics to parents coming into the school.

This week our girls played at BSB in the Primary Sports League for Netball and narrowly missed out on third place. However, one of our students claimed the player of the tournament award and we are thrilled. Congratulations to Carlotta for this wonderful achievement!

We have also opened up the school this week for Open Day and it was a real privilege and pleasure to welcome our current and new parents into the building. Our secondary school students showed groups of parents around the building to share the facilities we have, the lessons and learning we enjoy. They did a great job!

Thank you to everyone who attended the Early Years Storytime, another great event by our EY team to invite parents into our library.

As we grow as a school, we have an update regarding the bus routes offered. The Sarr route is being considered which also covers other destinations. If you live in Sarr and would like to inquire about the bus route, please contact the bus company immediately below as when there are 10 children, the bus route will be then confirmed. We currently have 5 signed up for this and looking for another 5 children to join who live in Budaiya, Sarr, Janabiya, Bani Jamrah, Karranah

At Nadeen School, having 63 nationalities enriches us as a community and we look forward to a great week ahead! A special thank you to our Nadeen Community Association for their hard work and support with the events, food, and help. It is very much appreciated!

Join us for the Family Picnic in the Park on Saturday, February 10th, from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm at the school.

Next week is International week, COBIS music festival and our Food Fair at the end of the week!

Have a great weekend!

Urgent Communication

All urgent updates continue to be sent via email or SMS for emergencies (School Closure).

Please monitor your emails for future updates as this continues to be the best way to send out clear and consistent communication to all parents. Check that you are receiving emails, have enough space in your email folder, that they do not go to your ‘junk’ folder and if you are unsure, please contact info@nadeenschool.com, see reception or phone on +97317728886 to personally check your contact email and phone number on record.

If you change any contact details, please inform the school immediately.

Health and Safety

All urgent Health and Safety announcements will be sent directly to parents via email.

We will continue to work together to follow all health and precautionary measures to prevent the spread of diseases as recommended by the Ministry of Health specialists. Together with your constant cooperation and taking responsibility by keeping your children at home when feeling ill, will also have a significant impact in limiting the spread of diseases.  Thank you to all members of the community in advance for this.

Please keep your child at home if he/she is ill, has flu or cold symptoms

Virtual Learning

Last year it was announced that it is no longer mandatory for schools to provide Virtual Learning for students, shared by the Ministry of Education in August 2022.

The Ministry of Education has announced that the syllabus system for the coming academic year 2022/23 in all kindergartens, schools, universities, government and private educational institutions at all stages will be mandatory attendance for all students.  The ministry clarified that there would be no choice for parents to attend their children to receive in-person or remotely learning, assuring its keenness to provide for all the requirements for a successful back to school.

At Nadeen School, following the announcement from the Ministry above, our provision for learning will be on site.
