Update from the Principal – 25th January

Update from the Principal

Dear Parents,

Today is Parent Appreciation Day!

A moment to recognise and thank all parents and carers in the Nadeen School Community for the wonderful care, love and support you give each day. We have a very special group of parents that is growing each week and today is about celebrating everything that you do. During this week, the students have created a range of personal thank you gifts and presents with the teachers to give to you. We hope you all have a fantastic day and we very much value everything you do. Thank you to all Nadeen School parents.

As heard on the radio yesterday, we are the proud winners of the Primary Sports League (PSL) Athletics meet at the Tuesday afternoon event hosted at the American School Bahrain. Yesterday, we were on the radio (Mr Matt) and he talked about the successes of the students, events won and this was a historic occasion as Nadeen School are the winners of the PSL for the first time ever! A historic achievement and one that we are all very proud of!

Congratulations to all of the students that took part in this event, thank you to the PE team at Nadeen School, our staff, parents and everyone else that has supported us. We have included the special announcement email that was sent out to all parents in our community yesterday together with a gallery of images and the audio file of the radio announcement. In total, the huge medal haul included:

12 x Individual Gold Medals

6 x Individual Silver Medals

4 x Individual Bronze Medals

2 x Team Relay Gold Medals

And were crowned overall winners!

Thank you to everyone who attended the Early Years Open Morning this week. It was a great atmosphere of students learning, enjoying activities and being with their parents in our EY area. Thank you to Kacey and the Early Years team for putting on such an exciting and energising morning. It was great to see so many people attend and thank you for coming in. We hope to see you at the next event!

Thank you to all parents for filling in the Nadeen School Parent Survey 2023/24 (It will close at the end of today at 4pm). The survey really helps to celebrate areas of the school and for us to continue to improve. We have made good progress so far in the first 6 months of the building and have a long way to go. Step by step we will get there and we are by no means the finished product but we are proud of how the entire school has moved to a new location, new building and welcomed many new students, parents and staff. We all want the same outcome, to give the best for the students and I am very grateful to everyone for your support. It means a great deal to me and the team, thank you.

Thank you to everyone that attended the Duke of Edinburgh award presentation by Miss Jade, please find a copy of the presentation here.

This week, I’d like to raise further awareness of the use of social media by our community. With a digital footprint on everything we post, the ability to share immediately, and then this is always available in the future to refer to, can lead to difficult situations and potential misunderstandings. I warmly invite any parent to email and set up a conversation with other parents if you need to talk, and also openly extend the use of our meeting rooms and facilities if needed when it concerns students. Please where possible, talk through situations or opinions with other families rather than solely using WhatsApp. These instant messages can be read differently and potentially ambiguous. Thank you to all families that continue to model this and for everyone for trying. It is very much appreciated and we will get there together.

We are still looking for parents to volunteer for Extracurricular Activities. If you are a parent and keen to get involved more in the community, you are very welcome to contact the school and to either run, organise or participate in helping out at our ECAs. If you have time for this, please contact Miss Habiba at h.chilwan@nadeenschool.com. We also now have 8 display boards added to our main stage in the Performance Theatre and if you are keen to get involved, we need parent volunteers to help out with decorating the stage and displays in the theatre for our upcoming musical performance. These newly installed boards give us the opportunity to be creative and really make the stage come alive. Please contact info@nadeenschool.com

If you get a moment, please join us and sign up for the Nadeen Green Family Fun Run. This is another great event and an opportunity to keep everyone active, healthy and having fun!

This half term we have now started the Languages block and look forward to seeing many activities related to languages. We have 35 Arabic classes running during the week outside of lessons for students to sign up to. 23 of these Arabic sessions are from 7.30am in the morning during the week so there is something for all year groups. These are for all students. If you would like to know more about further Arabic classes and opportunities for your child to attend classes outside of the timetable before school, break and after school, please see the timetable here to contact the teachers running the sessions or email Miss Kawther for any general questions: k.ali@nadeenschool.com

Mall of Dilmunia will be holding the VEX Carnival 2024 event scheduled to take place at the Canal Side Mall starting from today January 25th to February 3rd from 5pm to 10pm (weekdays) and from 5pm to 12am (weekends). For more information, please visit the website at www.mallofdilmunia.com or click here

Have a great weekend!

Primary Sports League Winners – Special Announcement

Dear Parents,

We are writing to share some exciting news with you! Last night, Nadeen School achieved a remarkable milestone by winning the Primary Sports League Athletics meet for the first time ever! Taking home a fantastic trophy for ‘Overall Winners’.

First of all, we very much appreciate the team at ASB for hosting, welcoming and making this a memorable sporting occasion for everyone. We were very proud to compete in this exciting event with wonderful students from the American School of Bahrain (ASB), Beacon Private School, Abdul Rahman Kanoo International School (ARKIS), Riffa Views International School and Abdul Rahman Kanoo School Diyar (ARKS). The spirit, respectful approach to all and positive atmosphere were a joy to be a part of.

Not only did we win 12 individual gold medals, 6 individual silver medals, 4 individual bronze medals and 2 team relays but we were also the overall winners of the event! Our students truly shone during the competition!

We are so incredibly proud of our students! Their dedication, hard work, and perseverance have paid off! We are also grateful to our PE Team, staff and parents for your continuous support, which plays a vital role in nurturing the talents of these students and helping them reach their full potential.

Please click here to view some of the photos from the event. Attached is the recording of an interview conducted with Mr Matt on Radio Bahrain this morning speaking about this incredible achievement.

We look forward to celebrating further student successes together in the future.

Kind regards,

Nadeen School

All urgent updates continue to be sent via email or SMS for emergencies (School Closure).

Please monitor your emails for future updates as this continues to be the best way to send out clear and consistent communication to all parents. Check that you are receiving emails, have enough space in your email folder, that they do not go to your ‘junk’ folder and if you are unsure, please contact info@nadeenschool.com, see reception or phone on +97317728886 to personally check your contact email and phone number on record.

If you change any contact details, please inform the school immediately.

Health and Safety

All urgent Health and Safety announcements will be sent directly to parents via email.

We will continue to work together to follow all health and precautionary measures to prevent the spread of diseases as recommended by the Ministry of Health specialists. Together with your constant cooperation and taking responsibility by keeping your children at home when feeling ill, will also have a significant impact in limiting the spread of diseases.  Thank you to all members of the community in advance for this.

Please keep your child at home if he/she is ill, has flu or cold symptoms

Virtual Learning

Last year it was announced that it is no longer mandatory for schools to provide Virtual Learning for students, shared by the Ministry of Education in August 2022.

The Ministry of Education has announced that the syllabus system for the coming academic year 2022/23 in all kindergartens, schools, universities, government and private educational institutions at all stages will be mandatory attendance for all students.  The ministry clarified that there would be no choice for parents to attend their children to receive in-person or remotely learning, assuring its keenness to provide for all the requirements for a successful back to school.

At Nadeen School, following the announcement from the Ministry above, our provision for learning will be on site.
