Update from the Principal – 9th May

Update from the Principal

Today is Staff Appreciation Day! A huge thank you to our Nadeen School team for all of the work they do each and every single day. They deserve a lot of credit and praise for the brilliant role they play in our community. We have shared thank you cards, shown thanks in various ways and also provided a staff breakfast. A very nice way to finish the week!

Another great week of sports and fixtures for our students, a huge congratulations to all students involved in the tournaments and games this week. A truly phenomenal effort!

Once again, our students have returned with medals and trophies. Well done to our girls football teams that finished 2nd and 3rd in the 24N tournament this week. It was fantastic to see teams coming together from all schools across the island including St Chris, BSB, ARKIS and others. With our facilities, we look forward to hosting more events like this in the future.

With our sports parade coming soon (Thursday 30th May), it is a time to reflect and appreciate the work that the staff and students have done this year with sports. Our best year in the history of Nadeen School with unparalleled wins in the PSL (Primary Sports League) and BSME (British Schools Middle East) for the first time ever. We couldn’t be more proud of the students, well done!

We have added colour, creativity and a vibrant feel to our main stairwell with the addition of some remarkable artwork produced by our students with Miss Rien. It brings the whole area to life! The imagination, creativity and skill on show is a joy to see.

The Matilda rehearsals are continuing and we have heard one piece of music from the show already that has blown everyone away! The quality of singing, acting and overall performing is of the highest quality by our students. With more weekly and Friday sessions to practice, this is going to be an exciting production to see. Tickets will be available from Tuesday, 21st May.

Thank you to all parents that attended our Open Day this week. It is always great to share with you what our students are doing, how they are learning and why they enjoy being at Nadeen School!

We are delighted to welcome Mr. Ayman Ali to our school team as our new Head of Finance! In an effort to streamline communication and further support easy messaging in this area of the school, please note the following new email addresses:

    • fees@nadeenschool.com – this is for all of your communication regarding fees, trips and ECA payments, and other general fees and payments correspondence.
    • finance@nadeenschool – please contact Ayman directly on this email address if you need further support or assistance with regards to fees payments and other related matters.
    • the accounts@nadeenschool.com and accounts2@nadeenschool.com email addresses will be discontinued from Saturday, 11th May

Of course, we welcome parents to come in to see us throughout the day – our door is always open and we look forward to seeing you soon.

Next week, we have exit points starting on Sunday, our Parent Meetings on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and the Science Fair on Thursday! Plus save the date for the Swim meet on Saturday 18th May! Lots to get involved in and plenty of opportunities for our students to participate in a range of various activities.

Have a great weekend!

Urgent Communication

All urgent updates continue to be sent via email or SMS for emergencies (School Closure).

Please monitor your emails for future updates as this continues to be the best way to send out clear and consistent communication to all parents. Check that you are receiving emails, have enough space in your email folder, that they do not go to your ‘junk’ folder and if you are unsure, please contact info@nadeenschool.com, see reception or phone on +97317728886 to personally check your contact email and phone number on record.

If you change any contact details, please inform the school immediately.

Health and Safety

All urgent Health and Safety announcements will be sent directly to parents via email.

We will continue to work together to follow all health and precautionary measures to prevent the spread of diseases as recommended by the Ministry of Health specialists. Together with your constant cooperation and taking responsibility by keeping your children at home when feeling ill, will also have a significant impact in limiting the spread of diseases.  Thank you to all members of the community in advance for this.

Please keep your child at home if he/she is ill, has flu or cold symptoms

Virtual Learning

Last year it was announced that it is no longer mandatory for schools to provide Virtual Learning for students, shared by the Ministry of Education in August 2022.

The Ministry of Education has announced that the syllabus system for the coming academic year 2022/23 in all kindergartens, schools, universities, government and private educational institutions at all stages will be mandatory attendance for all students.  The ministry clarified that there would be no choice for parents to attend their children to receive in-person or remotely learning, assuring its keenness to provide for all the requirements for a successful back to school.

At Nadeen School, following the announcement from the Ministry above, our provision for learning will be on site.
