Update from the Principal – 21st March

Update from the Principal

Dear Parents,

Last week we finished with a fantastic evening event as we celebrated Gergaoun. This was the first event of its kind at Nadeen School and we were delighted with the whole evening. Thank you to the parent volunteers for a huge contribution in making the event possible from all of the activities, entertainment and refreshments! We enjoyed seeing everyone visit the school and as a community to come together and celebrate Gergaoun. This is now going to be added to the calendar for next year as a permanent annual event for us to celebrate. We had a lot of positive comments from families about the event and what we offer as a school. We are very grateful and appreciate this feedback. A quote from the article is below:

On behalf of many parents that I know personally and our children, we would like to thank you and thank the School’s team for supporting us to arrange the first Gergaoun and Ramadan event at the school .

This event means a lot to us, sharing our culture and our important occasion with everyone in the school . This was a real reflection on the amazing culture we have at Nadeen that represents diversity, inclusion, and unity.

We know and appreciate all the efforts put by your team after working hours, the fasting members, and the non- fasting members, but the results are amazing , everyone left with a smile and an amazing memory.

We would like to request from the school to continue having such events, involve us as parents to support them. The amazing cooperation between us and you resulted in an amazing event. It was also good for the students to see how important is the role of everyone to have a successful event. As I said before leaving the school tonight…this was an event by all for all.

Last Saturday afternoon, I was in school with other members of staff to encourage and cheer along the students in the Esports finals COBIS competition. Thank you to parents and staff for supporting and also a special mention to Mr Phil for the great work and preparation with the secondary students! – We are very proud of the students for making it to the finals and we look forward to the next event!

We are delighted to be in the March Edition of Bahrain Confidential, with hard copies distributed throughout the Kingdom and an electronic copy here, this is exciting to celebrate our students. Well done and congratulations to all students involved in the sports during this season.

Thank you to the parents for attending the virtual open day this week. At one hour and 30 minutes, this was a packed edition to talk about the school, give out information, and share many of the recent successes that we have seen.

Today was wonderful to visit the Secondary Assembly. Our students led the assembly, presented about world recycling day, invited staff to present, performed drama, and celebrated successes. Nadeen School continues to put the students at the centre of what we do and to see our amazing students organise and deliver such a high-quality assembly was a joy to see. Thank you to Mr Phil, Mr Chris and Miss Stephanie for sharing updates, and awareness information and celebrating our students.

Another great event this week has been another fundraising project by our students and Miss Suzanne, please read the update below:

A Box of Goodness update

A group of Secondary students gave up their personal time this week to check, sort and pack food donations into boxes. The boxes will be distributed to less fortunate families across the Kingdom of Bahrain by A Box of Goodness.

Sincere thanks to everyone for your generous contributions and support, this has been a great community effort! We will continue to collect dry food items until the 28th March, and again next week a group of Secondary students have volunteered personal time to organise the food packs!

Thank you to Miss Suzanne and all teachers involved. To have packed 20 boxes of donations is incredible. A huge thank you to all members of our community who donated.

Well done to all students involved in the Public speaking house competition, the Taekwondo ECA led by Mr Ali, teachers showcasing learning at exit points, and much more! – A fantastic week of experiences for our students.

Next week we have Autism Awareness Week, our Early Years to Year 1 transition event on Monday (click here to RSVP), and then a 12 noon finish for the students on the last day of term 2 on Thursday 28th March.

Have a great weekend!

Urgent Communication

All urgent updates continue to be sent via email or SMS for emergencies (School Closure).

Please monitor your emails for future updates as this continues to be the best way to send out clear and consistent communication to all parents. Check that you are receiving emails, have enough space in your email folder, that they do not go to your ‘junk’ folder and if you are unsure, please contact info@nadeenschool.com, see reception or phone on +97317728886 to personally check your contact email and phone number on record.

If you change any contact details, please inform the school immediately.

Health and Safety

All urgent Health and Safety announcements will be sent directly to parents via email.

We will continue to work together to follow all health and precautionary measures to prevent the spread of diseases as recommended by the Ministry of Health specialists. Together with your constant cooperation and taking responsibility by keeping your children at home when feeling ill, will also have a significant impact in limiting the spread of diseases.  Thank you to all members of the community in advance for this.

Please keep your child at home if he/she is ill, has flu or cold symptoms

Virtual Learning

Last year it was announced that it is no longer mandatory for schools to provide Virtual Learning for students, shared by the Ministry of Education in August 2022.

The Ministry of Education has announced that the syllabus system for the coming academic year 2022/23 in all kindergartens, schools, universities, government and private educational institutions at all stages will be mandatory attendance for all students.  The ministry clarified that there would be no choice for parents to attend their children to receive in-person or remotely learning, assuring its keenness to provide for all the requirements for a successful back to school.

At Nadeen School, following the announcement from the Ministry above, our provision for learning will be on site.
