Update from the Principal – 18th January

Update from the Principal

Dear Parents,

A very enjoyable week, made even more special seeing the beautiful photos from the first ever Nadeen School Ski Trip. It is wonderful to see our students and teachers experience amazing conditions, stunning surroundings and they have had a fun packed week! Well done to everyone involved for challenging themselves, developing further skills and exploring new mountains!

For families that live near, who cycle into school, thank you to all parents that have been using the bike rack . It has been a huge success and yesterday we reached the capacity of bicycles, so we have ordered another bike rack to extend the storage. It has been brilliant to see families and students arrive on bicycles and scooters in the morning. We keep encouraging our students to try this and we really appreciate your support.

Today is Crazy Hair Day at school and we are raising awareness for Cystic Fibrosis.

The Nadeen School Parent Survey 2023/24 was sent out this week, the link is here. Thank you to everyone who has filled it in, it is incredibly helpful and important. We very much appreciate and value all of your comments. As with all surveys, I will pass on all comments to teaching staff and we use the survey to both celebrate what the school does and also to keep improving as best we can. As I have said several times, we are not the finished article as a school and together we will keep listening and taking steps forward. We are dedicated, committed and humble in our approach. Thank you for taking your time to give your feedback.

Please find details of the Nadeen Green Family Fun Run below from Mr Gerry, Mr Kyle and Miss Sarah. This is another great event and an opportunity to keep everyone active, healthy and having fun!

Thank you to everyone that has signed up for Calo. This process to order and deliver meals is now well underway and it has been working well. The meals provided are nutritious, balanced and varied and we are very pleased with the start of this provision. If you would like to sign up for Calo or find out more, please click here.

This half term we have now started the Languages block and look forward to seeing many activities related to languages. We have 35 Arabic classes running during the week outside of lessons for students to sign up to. 23 of these Arabic sessions are from 7.30am in the morning during the week so there is something for all year groups. These are for all students. If you would like to know more about further Arabic classes and opportunities for your child to attend classes outside of the timetable before school, break and after school please see the timetable here to contact the teachers running the sessions or email Miss Kawther for any general questions: k.ali@nadeenschool.com

We look forward to Parent Appreciation Day next Thursday, the 25th of January, our Duke of Edinburgh Parent Presentation on Wednesday, the 24th of January, as well as our Early Years Open Morning on Monday, the 22nd of January (please click here to RSVP for the Early Years Open Morning).

Have a great weekend!

Urgent Communication

All urgent updates continue to be sent via email or SMS for emergencies (School Closure).

Please monitor your emails for future updates as this continues to be the best way to send out clear and consistent communication to all parents. Check that you are receiving emails, have enough space in your email folder, that they do not go to your ‘junk’ folder and if you are unsure, please contact info@nadeenschool.com, see reception or phone on +97317728886 to personally check your contact email and phone number on record.

If you change any contact details, please inform the school immediately.

Health and Safety

All urgent Health and Safety announcements will be sent directly to parents via email.

We will continue to work together to follow all health and precautionary measures to prevent the spread of diseases as recommended by the Ministry of Health specialists. Together with your constant cooperation and taking responsibility by keeping your children at home when feeling ill, will also have a significant impact in limiting the spread of diseases.  Thank you to all members of the community in advance for this.

Please keep your child at home if he/she is ill, has flu or cold symptoms

Virtual Learning

Last year it was announced that it is no longer mandatory for schools to provide Virtual Learning for students, shared by the Ministry of Education in August 2022.

The Ministry of Education has announced that the syllabus system for the coming academic year 2022/23 in all kindergartens, schools, universities, government and private educational institutions at all stages will be mandatory attendance for all students.  The ministry clarified that there would be no choice for parents to attend their children to receive in-person or remotely learning, assuring its keenness to provide for all the requirements for a successful back to school.

At Nadeen School, following the announcement from the Ministry above, our provision for learning will be on site.
