Update from the Principal – 21st September

Update from the Principal.

Dear Parents,

A jam-packed week that seems to have flown by!

This week we have enjoyed spending time in classes, watching lessons, students learning and the enthusiasm from our teachers as they inspire the students. Throughout this week, I have visited Primary and Secondary lessons and it is a pleasure to watch our students think, discuss and explore with their learning. As with everything, we have areas that we are very proud of, which we will share out to all staff to spread best practice and also room for improvement for which we learn from. As a school we always look for ways in which we can do better and make adjustments for the benefit of the students. We mention mindset a lot and this is something that I see modelled each day in school by the team, a love of lifelong learning!

A special mention to how well our students have started this term, each day I remain so impressed by how they are focused on lessons, friends and teachers. With many changes five weeks ago, they deserve a lot of praise for the way in which they have fully embraced the new campus and how they have settled.

We have sent out in the media over the past week, the news regarding our latest award – Google for Education Reference School. We are the first school in Bahrain to achieve this prestigious award, and the staff and students at the school have worked incredibly hard towards this.

A note to mention that we have had fourteen articles published on our website since the start of the school year. If you are interested in finding out more about the school, teachers and what our students do, this is a place packed with information to access at your convenience. You can find the articles by clicking on the latest news page here.

Please read the weekly email from class teachers and a quick heads up about the improvements made to the pick-up procedures for Primary students. Now that Extracurricular clubs are running, students are used to the routes around school, and we can make further changes. There is no change for Early Years, Year 1 and 2.

An addition to our Performance Theatre that we have received this week is a new podium that our students can use when we have our student-led events. This adds more experiences for our students to enjoy when they set up presentations, prepare speaking notes and talk through slideshows. We’ve seen many students grow in confidence and develop literacy skills as they lead and present about their passions and interests.

Have a great weekend!

We will continue to work together to follow all health and precautionary measures to prevent the spread of diseases as recommended by the Ministry of Health specialists. Together with your constant cooperation and taking responsibility by keeping your children at home when feeling ill, will also have a significant impact in limiting the spread of diseases.  Thank you to all members of the community in advance for this.

Virtual Learning

Last year it was announced that it is no longer mandatory for schools to provide Virtual Learning for students, shared by the Ministry of Education in August 2022.

The Ministry of Education has announced that the syllabus system for the coming academic year 2022/23 in all kindergartens, schools, universities, government and private educational institutions at all stages will be mandatory attendance for all students.  The ministry clarified that there would be no choice for parents to attend their children to receive in-person or remotely learning, assuring its keenness to provide for all the requirements for a successful back to school.

At Nadeen School, following the announcement from the Ministry above, our provision for learning will be on site.
