Update from the Principal – 9th November

Update from the Principal.

Dear Parents,

It has been a busy week that started with a high energy ‘Nadeen Community Sports Festival’, a wonderful way to start the week with a range of sports for our students to try and to get involved in. Thank you to all parents for coming along, encouraging the students and for your support with such an event. We truly believe that these opportunities make a huge difference to the students and their development beyond the classroom!

We enjoyed a very well attended Open Day, in which we welcomed parents with students across the school to visit our campus and to pop into lessons, speaking to teachers, students and watching the learning take place! Always a great event and now a little bit extra special in a beautiful new campus!

In our assemblies this week, we had our annual Remembrance assembly and also will attend the event from the embassy next week. Thank you to our students for preparing lovely posters, presenting very clearly with confidence and raising awareness of this event.

We had a very informative, interesting, and organised IGCSE subjects information event held in our secondary school area. Our experienced and passionate teachers talked through core and optional subjects while giving out advice, information, and a range of resources to read through!

Parent conferences have been in full swing over the past 3 days with the school coming to life with every floor, area, and department involved in this whole school event. Spending time to talk about students, their progress and learning is always an enjoyable experience and one that we all look forward to. Along with the opportunity to speak to teachers through email, online meetings, and personal appointments, this is a great way to catch up with the teacher and discuss the progress of your child.

We are delighted to announce that during this term, we have now reached an incredible 76% of students who have taken part in at least 1 extracurricular activity (this has increased from 60% from term 3 last year). It shows the enthusiasm from the students to get involved, support from parents, and also the quality of the clubs and activities provided by the school, staff, and external companies. Thank you to all families for supporting the ECAs as we believe they have a great impact on students, their confidence, creativity, healthy lifestyle, mindset, social skills, etc.

With our festive fair approaching, if you or your company would like to donate a raffle prize such as a voucher, gift, gift certificate or hamper, it would be greatly appreciated by Nadeen School students, parents and staff. Please contact marketing@nadeenschool.com for further information.

If you are free, it would be excellent to see families attend the Arabian Celts Gaelic Football event from 3pm – 6pm on 10th November at the Rugby Club with Nadeen Students participating.

Have a great weekend!

Urgent Communication

All urgent updates continue to be sent via email or SMS for emergencies (School Closure).

Please monitor your emails for future updates as this continues to be the best way to send out clear and consistent communication to all parents. Check that you are receiving emails, have enough space in your email folder, that they do not go to your ‘junk’ folder and if you are unsure, please contact info@nadeenschool.com, see reception or phone on +97317728886 to personally check your contact email and phone number on record.

If you change any contact details, please inform the school immediately.

Health and Safety

All urgent Health and Safety announcements will be sent directly to parents via email.

We will continue to work together to follow all health and precautionary measures to prevent the spread of diseases as recommended by the Ministry of Health specialists. Together with your constant cooperation and taking responsibility by keeping your children at home when feeling ill, will also have a significant impact in limiting the spread of diseases.  Thank you to all members of the community in advance for this.

Please keep your child at home if he/she is ill, has flu or cold symptoms

Virtual Learning

Last year it was announced that it is no longer mandatory for schools to provide Virtual Learning for students, shared by the Ministry of Education in August 2022.

The Ministry of Education has announced that the syllabus system for the coming academic year 2022/23 in all kindergartens, schools, universities, government and private educational institutions at all stages will be mandatory attendance for all students.  The ministry clarified that there would be no choice for parents to attend their children to receive in-person or remotely learning, assuring its keenness to provide for all the requirements for a successful back to school.

At Nadeen School, following the announcement from the Ministry above, our provision for learning will be on site.
