Update from the Principal – 11th January

Update from the Principal

Dear Parents,

Happy New Year and I wish you and your families all of the very best for 2024!

Today is another special occasion as we are celebrating our Nadeen School Birthday and 46 years of education. We have had many activities this week building up to mark this wonderful achievement and these have been shared out through social media, emails and around school. Thank you to everyone in the community for your support, not only everyone currently working with and connected with the school now, but all families, teachers, staff and students over the years that have contributed to our fabulous school. Thank you!

The assembly this morning celebrated our Nadeen School birthday and it was great to get all students from Primary and Secondary together. At the end of the assembly after the certificates, IPC presentation from Year 3, video of birthday celebrations and Stars of the week we sang happy birthday together!

It has been fantastic to see our students arrive back at school after the holiday. We have missed all of them and it has been great to see families again, staff return, students together and friends playing together. It has been a very smooth return to school. Walking around the building, you can see and feel the positive atmosphere, the engagement in learning and the noise of students enjoying being in school. It has been a very enjoyable week. The students have made it incredible.

We have also welcomed 30 new students to our school this week as we have continued to grow as a school to now having 665 students in total. I’d like to offer a warm welcome to our new families and I look forward to seeing you each morning at the start of the day at drop off or at the front of the school as students arrive. This is a great achievement by the community and signals a 60% growth in just 6 months now we have moved campus. This has a positive impact on having more students for sports/sporting teams, activities, bigger performances/productions, house competitions, environmental projects, charity work etc. A sincere thank you to everyone connected to the school from the community, to parents, students and staff who continue to support the school.

A special mention to the families that continue to recommend the school. This would not be possible without you and we are very grateful. We still have a lot of work to do and improvements to make and these challenges ahead excite us to work hard and to be better for the students we see each day.

This half term we have now started the Languages block and look forward to seeing many activities related to languages. If you would like to know more about further Arabic classes and opportunities for your child to attend classes outside of the timetable before school, break and after school please see the timetable here to contact the teachers running the sessions or email Miss Kawther for any general questions: k.ali@nadeenschool.com

We look forward to students attending these extra Arabic classes, the provision and extra classes are for everyone and there is something for every year group.

Next week we have the Year 6 – 9 ski trip and also look out for crazy hair day on Thursday 18th January!

Thank you again for making this an enjoyable, fun and exciting week back.

Have a great weekend!

Urgent Communication

All urgent updates continue to be sent via email or SMS for emergencies (School Closure).

Please monitor your emails for future updates as this continues to be the best way to send out clear and consistent communication to all parents. Check that you are receiving emails, have enough space in your email folder, that they do not go to your ‘junk’ folder and if you are unsure, please contact info@nadeenschool.com, see reception or phone on +97317728886 to personally check your contact email and phone number on record.

If you change any contact details, please inform the school immediately.

Health and Safety

All urgent Health and Safety announcements will be sent directly to parents via email.

We will continue to work together to follow all health and precautionary measures to prevent the spread of diseases as recommended by the Ministry of Health specialists. Together with your constant cooperation and taking responsibility by keeping your children at home when feeling ill, will also have a significant impact in limiting the spread of diseases.  Thank you to all members of the community in advance for this.

Please keep your child at home if he/she is ill, has flu or cold symptoms

Virtual Learning

Last year it was announced that it is no longer mandatory for schools to provide Virtual Learning for students, shared by the Ministry of Education in August 2022.

The Ministry of Education has announced that the syllabus system for the coming academic year 2022/23 in all kindergartens, schools, universities, government and private educational institutions at all stages will be mandatory attendance for all students.  The ministry clarified that there would be no choice for parents to attend their children to receive in-person or remotely learning, assuring its keenness to provide for all the requirements for a successful back to school.

At Nadeen School, following the announcement from the Ministry above, our provision for learning will be on site.
