Update from the Principal – 19th October

Update from the Principal.

Dear Parents,

Happy Student Appreciation Day! A wonderful day to celebrate our amazing students here at Nadeen School. We’ve seen cards, messages, videos, and many other ways in which to recognise our fabulous students.

This week we have also enjoyed our Fitness Week with House Sports Competitions in areas such as Basketball and Futsal across Primary and Secondary. With students from Years 3 – 9 involved, it has been a very enjoyable week to promote a healthy lifestyle, house spirit, and getting involved in team sports.

Thank you to everyone for your support with our Grand Opening inauguration event this week. It was a very special occasion and a memorable way to mark the official opening of the school. As always we mentioned students first and our students across the school were fantastic in the way they presented (Well done to Mahmoud and Jude), Year 1 classes, student helpers, gift bearers, volunteers, welcome crowd! And many more!

Next weekend, we have the annual event in Dilmunia to raise Breast Cancer Awareness. The event, scheduled on October 27, 2023, from 3.30 pm to 5.30 pm will feature guest speakers, refreshments, a mini warm up session, picture-taking opportunities, and giveaways. All the funds generated from the event will be donated to the Bahrain Breast Cancer Society “Think Pink Bahrain”.  The Think Pink Dilmunia walk signup is here.

This week in Primary classes, we have celebrated the exit points by students from the projects they have been involved in over this unit. Our exit points are where our students have the opportunity to showcase what they have been learning throughout their current unit. In many different formats, these exit points are a great way to see what and how our students have been learning. Thank you to everyone who has participated in supporting these. We look forward to the next project, the next entry point, and the introduction to the new theme!

As we head to the end of our Maths theme, we have another interesting article about the fusion of Mathematics and Art.

If you are going away for the half term break, have a relaxing time, and thank you once again for your support throughout a very busy but productive half term as we have settled into our new building. Coming up after the half term we have many more projects for our students and ideas to help them have an even better experience at school with the swimming programs, school performances, productions, and the food delivery company for snacks and meals!

Have a great weekend!

Urgent Communication

All urgent updates continue to be sent via email or SMS for emergencies (School Closure).

Please monitor your emails for future updates as this continues to be the best way to send out clear and consistent communication to all parents. Check that you are receiving emails, have enough space in your email folder, that they do not go to your ‘junk’ folder and if you are unsure, please contact info@nadeenschool.com, see reception or phone on +97317728886 to personally check your contact email and phone number on record.

If you change any contact details, please inform the school immediately.

Health and Safety

All urgent Health and Safety announcements will be sent directly to parents via email.

We will continue to work together to follow all health and precautionary measures to prevent the spread of diseases as recommended by the Ministry of Health specialists. Together with your constant cooperation and taking responsibility by keeping your children at home when feeling ill, will also have a significant impact in limiting the spread of diseases.  Thank you to all members of the community in advance for this.

Please keep your child at home if he/she is ill, has flu or cold symptoms

Virtual Learning

Last year it was announced that it is no longer mandatory for schools to provide Virtual Learning for students, shared by the Ministry of Education in August 2022.

The Ministry of Education has announced that the syllabus system for the coming academic year 2022/23 in all kindergartens, schools, universities, government and private educational institutions at all stages will be mandatory attendance for all students.  The ministry clarified that there would be no choice for parents to attend their children to receive in-person or remotely learning, assuring its keenness to provide for all the requirements for a successful back to school.

At Nadeen School, following the announcement from the Ministry above, our provision for learning will be on site.
