Update from the Principal.

Dear Parents,

This week we have had some of our students out on the annual Ecoventure trip! – a wonderful fun packed and exciting experience for our students to get involved in many activities, learn new skills and to develop their team building and communication skills.  A truly fantastic opportunity for our students to explore, be active and learn together!

We have also had trips out this week, a great assembly on Growth Mindset by Miss Hannah’s class 2HC and International Women’s day! A special well done to all students involved in the assembly for such a fantastic student-led presentation that involved quizzes, singing, videos, stories, interviews and music!

Thank you to all parents for attending the site visit this week and we were very happy to show off our new campus to our first group of parents.  More groups are scheduled so that everyone will have a chance to see our beautiful new school campus in the coming weeks! Additionally, we have shared out the link for the bus routes to Dilmunia for when we move to the new school.  Parents can fill in information on the link including your address which will be collected by the bus company.  Once the company have this information from parents, then they will create bus routes.  Please fill in the link so that bus routes can be created asap.

Dear Parents and Carers,

I am writing to introduce myself as I will be the new Head of Primary at Nadeen School from August 2023. My name is Lauren Brown, and I am from Bolton, near Manchester, in England. I feel extremely honoured and privileged to have been chosen to continue to build upon the success the school has already achieved and continue to develop this ‘outstanding’ school.

I have taught in a wide range of schools throughout my teaching career since qualifying in 2009.  My current role is in a primary school in Bolton. However, I have taught internationally before, working at the British International School of  Houston in Texas, USA. I have led many different areas including Early Years and Key Stage One. Over the years I have gained a wealth of experience and knowledge in teaching and learning, and I can’t wait to share this with staff at the Nadeen School.

I strongly believe in providing the children with exciting, creative, and meaningful learning experiences, which build their enthusiasm for learning and help them to grow and develop positively in a variety of ways. I think it is crucial to involve the children and their families as partners in their education. I have heard many positive things about the children and the whole school community. I will endeavour to continue to develop a whole school community which thrives on mutual respect and values positive relationships. I know how vital working in partnership with parents really is in order for children to find school a positive and rewarding experience. As key educators in your children’s lives, I feel that it is important that you have a voice and that as a school we are approachable and allocate time to listen to your concerns, worries or thoughts about the school.

I will be making the move with my husband Stuart, and our two daughters Scarlett and Martha. Being a mother of two girls, I am very much aware of the responsibility that my staff and I have in ensuring that the highest standard of teaching and learning is achieved at Nadeen School. I will strive to create the best education for your child/children whilst they are members of our school community.

I look forward to meeting you in the new school year and hope to build positive, strong relationships with you all.

Yours faithfully,

Lauren Brown.

Ms. Lauren will be the Head of Primary from August 2023, with Miss Stephanie taking up the responsibility for our Year 7, 8 and 9 students as Head of Secondary.  Lauren currently works in the UK as part of an academy trust, has international experience working for an elite group of schools and brings with her a wealth of knowledge on new curriculum, teaching and learning, staff training, early years development, safeguarding and behaviour.  A key priority at her current school is to raise reading and writing attainment, she has experience in various year groups and the developments she led in Science have been commended across the academy trust.

We look forward to welcoming Ms Lauren and her family into the Nadeen School Community!

Urgent Communication

All urgent updates continue to be sent via email or SMS for emergencies (School Closure).

Please monitor your emails for future updates as this continues to be the best way to send out clear and consistent communication to all parents. Check that you are receiving emails, have enough space in your email folder, that they do not go to your ‘junk’ folder and if you are unsure, please contact info@nadeenschool.com, see reception or phone on +97317728886 to personally check your contact email and phone number on record.

If you change any contact details, please inform the school immediately.

Health and Safety

All urgent Health and Safety announcements will be sent directly to parents via email.

We will continue to work together to follow all health and precautionary measures to prevent the spread of diseases as recommended by the Ministry of Health specialists. Together with your constant cooperation and taking responsibility by keeping your children at home when feeling ill, will also have a significant impact in limiting the spread of diseases.  Thank you to all members of the community in advance for this.

Please keep your child at home if he/she is ill, has flu or cold symptoms

Virtual Learning

As you might have seen, this summer it was announced that it is no longer mandatory for schools to provide Virtual Learning for students, shared by the Ministry of Education on Tuesday 2nd August 2022.

The Ministry of Education has announced that the syllabus system for the coming academic year 2022/23 in all kindergartens, schools, universities, government and private educational institutions at all stages will be mandatory attendance for all students.  The ministry clarified that there would be no choice for parents to attend their children to receive in-person or remotely learning, assuring its keenness to provide for all the requirements for a successful back to school.

At Nadeen School, following the announcement from the Ministry above, our provision for learning will be on site.

For students unable to attend or overseas, we will offer an extra provision to help support with Year 3 and above, including:

  1. Students will be included in Google classrooms to have the same access as those onsite.
  2. A link to a curriculum plan for all year groups.
  3. weekly class email from the teacher.
  4. An appointment to discuss your child/their progress over email or an online meeting when required.
  5. Access to our book list covered in school.
  6. The resources from the online subscriptions used on site will be available.
  7. An opportunity for a teacher/student conference if needed, as directed by the class teacher.

We hope all students have the opportunity to be back on site.  We look forward to the new academic year and following the Ministry guidance above for our students at school.
