Nadeen School – A Cambridge Approved Centre

Nadeen School – A Cambridge Approved Centre

Recently we welcomed Ahmad Assaf (Senior Manager Gulf and Middle East) from Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE) to our school in Dilmunia for our on-site inspection. A significant step forward for our curriculum and our transition to an all-through international school from Early Years through to Year 13.

It was the first in person visit to our state-of-the-art campus from the Exam Board and a wonderful opportunity to present our very high quality facilities that our students have enjoyed from August 2023 to the Cambridge Exam Board.

This follows on from our communication on 17th January 2023, where we entered the final stages of our application and registration for the courses listed below, receiving a Nadeen School registration letter. The next step was a site visit.

    • Cambridge Primary (Grades 1-6)
    • Cambridge Lower Secondary (7-9)
    • Cambridge IGCSE
    • Cambridge AS and A level

As part of this physical visit and the final SAV (School Approval Visit) we toured the campus looking at the resources, specialist rooms and opportunities for our students to embark upon a range of courses and subjects over the coming years. It included a meeting, tour and sharing of school policies. We discussed the procedures involved in examinations, logistics and storing of the examination material on site. It was a very comprehensive and thorough visit and we are delighted to go through this process.

We have planned specific pathways of courses that will cater the needs of all students through our holistic approach as a school and ensuring that all children have the chance to follow their passions. IGCSE and A Levels will be the formal examination points at school as our students then move on to universities and other destinations worldwide. Some of the subjects/new activities our students will study throughout the school are provided by the new physical spaces below:

    • Performance Theatre (Music, Dance, Drama, Debate)
    • MakerSpace Rooms (Art, Design Technology, Graphic Design, Computing)
    • Food Tech Rooms (Food Technology)
    • Language Suites (Local and modern foreign languages)
    • Sports (PE)
    • Science Labs (Chemistry, Physics, Biology)
    • Library
    • Sixth Form Areas

Many of the above will lead on into Secondary school (Year 7 onwards) and then through into IGCSE (Year 10 and 11) or A Level (Year 12 and 13) if students choose to follow these further.

As a school, we have hosted the first of several sessions in Term 1 and 2 to introduce examinations and provide information regarding the pathways throughout the school. These include:

    • An introduction to IGCSE
    • IGCSE option choices/evening
    • University Guidance information evening
