What inspires us?

Miss Abigail’s thought for the week: What inspires us?

Happy New Year to you all.  At this time of year, when we make resolutions, book holidays and generally ‘face forwards’, I always find myself looking for inspiration in different places.

Exposing ourselves to things / people / places that inspire us is good for the soul. Here are a few short videos, where Luciana & Mariam from year 1 (https://youtu.be/G4rujK-rU2w ), Alex & Koya from year 3 (https://youtu.be/FmH5-y1eBzI ), Romina & Palak from year 6 (https://youtu.be/qC5VU26cbzs ), Miss Anne-Marie (https://youtu.be/1ujQhQ0YLBc ) and Miss Shanee (https://youtu.be/RZ_-BU7lzBU ) tell us a little about things that inspire them.

One of the many people that inspire me is Sir Ken Robinson (an educator and writer).  Here is a 10 minute video animation that he made about 10 years ago about changing paradigms in education.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zDZFcDGpL4U .  We, as a school, are already following these ideas and agree with what he says but, for some, it is still quite different thinking from our experiences.  I watch this whenever I need to be reminded of certain truths about education!

So… What inspires you? In your job? In your family? In your life? What sets your brain racing with ideas and plans and dreams? Why not share with us below pictures / quotes / videos / people that inspire you to better things? Let’s hear from you!
