Children’s Mental Health Awareness Week

February 4 - February 8

This week we will be marking Children’s Mental Health Week (4th of February – 8th of February). The theme for this year is ‘My Voice Matters’. Every child has the right to voice their opinions, thoughts, and wishes on all issues that affect them, as well as to have those opinions considered and taken seriously. Empowering children and young people can improve their health and well-being.

By encouraging children to speak up and express themselves, we are not only helping their mental well-being but also fostering a sense of empowerment and self-worth. When children feel they can voice their opinions, express their thoughts and feel respected, they are more likely to develop confidence, resilience and a positive sense of self.

As this year’s theme, “My Voice Matters”, serves as a powerful reminder that every child deserves a voice and to be heard, regardless of who they are or where they are. As we celebrate this week, let us strive to create an environment where every child feels safe and supported in sharing their thoughts, ideas and concerns.

On Thursday 8th of February, students and staff are invited to add to their regular uniform with green accessories such as green socks, hair bands, bracelets etc. to show support.
