Mr. James Weekly Reflection – 29th August

Mr. James Weekly Reflection

Dear Nadeen Family,

What an awesome first week back to school! I’ve been eagerly anticipating this moment ever since my visit to the school at the end of last year, and I must say, the energy both on orientation day and at our stunning start was electric. Ms. Shanee was practically bouncing down the corridors like Tigger from Winnie the Pooh—I wasn’t far behind in terms of enthusiasm!

I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to the entire Nadeen community for making us feel so welcomed. Your support in helping me settle into Bahrain while travelling between here and Dubai to see my family has been invaluable. My wife, Katy, and daughter, Gracie, joined us for the orientation day, and it was truly special to have them here. Katy enjoyed meeting some of the staff and parent community, while Gracie had a blast, especially with her moment in the spotlight on our social media. Gracie has a particular favourite piece of equipment in the playground and even managed to coax Ms. Shanee into playing with her, despite the heat!

It was wonderful to formally introduce ourselves on Tuesday. The energy in the room was palpable and left a big smile on my face, which carried into the next day. I am confident that this year will be filled with incredible learning and enrichment opportunities. We’re excited about the changes that will further our mission to be inclusive and ensure everyone feels a sense of belonging—the Nadeen Way.

I’ve received lots of positive feedback from my team this week and am immensely proud of their dedication. Highlights include hearing that our youngest learners have settled in smoothly, with a calm and lovely transition from reception to year 1. Following our CPD sessions, we’ve focused on creating learner regulation spaces aligned with our HPL philosophy on self-regulation and strategy development. I’ve heard great things about Ms. Gaby’s sequined wall, which Ms. Emma especially loves. In secondary school, I know that the teachers were buzzing about getting to teach iGCSE lessons and there has been some fab sessions on ‘looking at our identity” with Ms. Sarah. These sessions were aimed at trying to understand more about our key characteristics and personalities – how we ‘WoLF’ which is our term for work, learn and flourish at Nadeen.

The Primary and Secondary assemblies were fantastic, with Ms. Lauren outlining the “We are the Wolf Pack” and Mr. Paul inspiring us to “Dream Big.” I am truly inspired to collaborate as we Explore Together, Grow Together and Succeed Together.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.
