Mr. James Weekly Reflection – 22nd August

Mr. James Weekly Reflection

Dear Nadeen Community,

Can you believe it? The first day of the school year is almost here, and we are all buzzing with excitement to welcome your children — our learners — into the school. I want to start by expressing my heartfelt thanks for the warm welcome you have extended to me during my visits. Feeling like I am part of a community all working together to support our learners to ‘be the best they can be’ is truly my life’s purpose.

The session we held to gather feedback on what we envision a Nadeen learner should look like was incredibly powerful. I want you to know that this feedback has been the foundation for numerous discussions with our dedicated staffing team, who are just so very thoughtful and passionate. As we continue to shape our vision for our second year in the new building, we have been deeply engaged in discussions about how to grow and evolve while staying true to the core essence, or DNA, of what Nadeen has always represented.

Shanee and I, in particular, ponder this together often. Creating a culture of belonging and happiness is something we both strongly endorse. It’s truly exciting to imagine where we might be in a few years, and your feedback and support are vital as we shape this journey. You will frequently hear me talk about family, belonging, togetherness, inclusion, enrichment, empathy, service, and celebrating our authentic selves. High Performance Learning (HPL) underpins our approach, but we do it in a uniquely ‘Nadeen Way.’

You’ll hear your children talking about our Values, Attitudes, and Attributes (VAA) such as Empathy, Agility, and Hard Work. I often discuss empathy with my daughter in terms of kindness, and it’s remarkable to see the depth of understanding children have around these challenging concepts. The HPL VAA’s and ACP’s help guide and support us as we aim to equip our learners with the skills they need to navigate life’s challenges successfully, feel loved, and have fun along the way.

I am truly excited to get to know the community better and create amazing learning and enrichment opportunities for your children. I look forward to seeing you all at Orientation Day on Sunday!

Warmest regards,

Mr. James Batts
