Mr. James Weekly Reflection
Dear Nadeen Community,
What a fantastic week! The energy and enthusiasm across the school has been truly inspiring with lots of focus on developing our learning environments.
We recently hosted two successful Vice Principal coffee mornings, which provided a wonderful opportunity for our leadership team to share updates about the school’s progress and future plans. Most importantly, these sessions allowed us to listen to your invaluable feedback, giving us insight into your hopes and ideas for Nadeen. Your views shape the journey of our school, and we are grateful for your engagement, thoughtful questions, and support. The VP’s will be holding these sessions monthly so please do keep attending and supporting us.
Sport continues to be a shining example of what our learners can achieve. Our learners made us incredibly proud with their outstanding performance in the PSL Athletics competition. Their dedication, resilience, and sportsmanship are a credit to our values and community spirit. Adding to the celebration, our netball team triumphed in a thrilling match against BSB, demonstrating skills such as determination, and, most importantly, teamwork.
This week, we were honoured to welcome professional darts players Rob ‘Voltage’ Cross and Pete “Snakebite” Wright to Nadeen. Their visit was met with great excitement, and their stories of perseverance and precision gave us all something to think about. As much as they are individual players, their success wouldn’t be possible without the collaboration of their support teams, a vital reminder of the importance of teamwork. I think it’s safe to say that Mr. Danny and Mr. Paul were the most excited to meet them, and their enthusiasm was infectious!
It has been lovely to welcome Ms. Suzanne into the school community. Ms. Suzanne is our new Assistant Principal (Achievement & Enrichment – Inclusion) and brings a wealth of inclusive educational and leadership experience with her. Suzanne is a ball of energy and one of those individuals that is inspiring as well as brilliantly unique. We are excited to see the positive impact she will undoubtedly have on our learners and community.
It was a joy to listen to Year 1 and 2 learners enthusiastically discuss their Big Read of Rocket Says Clean Up! as they prepared for this weekend’s Beach Clean Up. Their curiosity and sense of responsibility for the environment was fantastic, and I can’t wait to see the impact of their efforts.
We are thrilled to share the fantastic news from the Under 11 Athletics Meet held at St. Christopher’s School! Competing against nine other schools, our learners performed fantastically across a variety of events. Our learners brought home numerous individual medals, showcasing their exceptional talent, determination, and hard work. Their dedication truly shone through, and it was a proud moment for all of us. In the end, their outstanding efforts earned us a well-deserved second-place finish, an incredible achievement considering the fierce competition. A huge congratulations to all our learners/aspiring athletes for their fantastic performances and to the PE team who helped them get there. We couldn’t be prouder of their achievements!
At Nadeen, we prioritise developing teamwork and collaboration, recognising them as essential skills for life and the workplace. Research consistently shows that teamwork enhances communication, problem-solving, and adaptability which are qualities that are vital in our interconnected world. According to a report by the World Economic Forum, teamwork is among the top skills needed for the jobs of the future, as it fosters innovation and the ability to navigate complex challenges. Sports provide an ideal context to develop these skills. Whether on the netball court, athletics track, or even in a classroom project, learners must trust one another, communicate effectively, and work together to achieve shared goals. These experiences prepare them for the demands of modern workplaces, where collaboration is often the key to success.
As we celebrate these achievements, let us also continue to foster a sense of community and shared purpose. Whether it’s through sport, academics, or creative pursuits, teamwork and collaboration will remain at the heart of what we do at Nadeen. A special thank you to Jamie Blum for coming in to do a mindfulness session with Year 6. It was a fantastic opportunity for our learners to develop tools for focus, relaxation, and well-being. Sessions like these are vital as we continue to nurture the whole child and prioritise mental health alongside academic achievement.
Happy Parent Appreciation Day! Thank you for your continued support, and I look forward to seeing what we can achieve together in the weeks ahead.
